VII. The Tragic Result for the Jews Under the Antonescu Government

 In the period of the Second World War, the total number of exterminated Jews, in the territories under Romanian authority, results from the following synthetic table:

In the territories under Antonescu government, about 270,000 Jews (155,000 Romanian Jews from former Great Romania, and 115,000 native Ukrainian Jews) were exterminated.

The highest number of victims was registered in Transnistria. From the total number of 270,000 exterminated Jews, about 200,000 disappeared in the territory between the rivers Dnestr and Bug, respectively over 80,000 Romanian Jews (from the former Greater Romania), and about 115,000 native Ukrainian Jews.

About 55,000 Jews were killed in Basarabia, Northern Bucovina and the district of Herta in the first months after the war started, and about 5,000 Jews died on their way to Transnistria.

More than 10,000 people were killed in the Old Kingdom and in Southern Transylvania, in the pogroms and death trains from Iasi, in the pogroms in Dorohoi and Bucharest and in other places of sad memory.

From the total number of 675,000 Jews, who lived in territories under Antonescu government, the total extermination rate represents 40%.

2) Includes the Jews killed or who died during the displacement to Transnistria, Basarabian Jews fled to Odessa, and killed during the reprisals, as well as other victims during the war period
Note: All the victims belong to the period of the Antonescu government, with the exception of the Jews killed in the pogrom from Dorohoi, when Romania was under Gh. Tatarescu Government.
